They unveiled a new female robot, this time one that sings, but there was a malfunction. Here's the news story, click the photo to see the video (it's entertaining without understanding Korean).
Apparently the robot was supposed to sing and dance, but it just kind of wiggled around with it's mouth wide up, much to everybody's embarrassment and probably the horror of small children.
People interviewed on the scene said the following:
"This is an important advance. At last we've moved beyond the merely figurative objectification of women" - Lee Jinhoo
"Finally, a Teddy Ruxpin you can have sex with." - Pak Yonghyun
"Why was I created just to feel pain?" - Robot |

Ouch, that face. My eyeballs are moist. I don't know why they talk too big about such dancing robots. They seem to do nothing but following the pre-programmed basic routines without any interactions with the changeable environment. |

That's pretty funny right there.
When I saw the article on the Chilsun Ilbo earlier, I couldn't help but notice how awful that robot looks compared to the ones Japan has been publicizing. The Japanese robots are hard to distnguish from actual humans, whereas this Korean model looks like a manneuin. What's with that weird hair style? |

The fact they know Teddy Ruxpin is more news than the article |

Yeah, the article talks about how this robot is 최초 (the first) but I'm not sure what new ground it breaks. To me, it honestly seems like a very expensive teddy ruxpin.
Don't be fooled by her innocent looks though. I heard she hangs out with the guys from the pirates of the carribean ride at disney world. (rimshot) |

This is a robot in need of help. It's obvious she has a pretty hardcore drug habit.
Hopefully her closest friends -- a Xerox machine and a vacuum cleaner -- will stage an intervention; and if her PR agent is smart, he or she will claim the robot was simply suffering from heat exhaustion. |

Good lord, they made an ajumma robot. Under-eye bags and everything. Robot armies are scary enough, but robot ajumma armies? |

I think I saw her at 588.
Or maybe that was her serial number. |

Korea still hasn't even caught up with Pirates of the Carribbean. |

I heard after the convention, she and a couple buddies got together to dunk a British officer in a well. |

You noticed the crucifix pendant too? You'd think that pendant would be a turn-off for 아저씨s wanting to make sweet unnatural love to the robot 아줌마. |
