for my hallowe'en costume i really need to make my face look as korean as possible.

does anyone know how i'd do it without looking too gaudy and over-the-top - ie. wearing blackface to look african?

i have two really funny ideas for a costume and one involves having really soft asian features a la the sensitive male tv drama star.

the other just involves me looking like a fruit-truck ajosshi curmudgeon.

both would involve a fair amount of makeup, i believe.

Why don't you wear a peroid costume with one of those tall black hats?

no, no... i need actual asian facial features. the costume idea involves having an asian face. i'm considering just getting a blown-up photo and making it into a mask, actually.

I don't really think you can do much with your face- it's like Asians trying to look white- other than putting on some pale foundation, that's all you can do, and it doesn't look natural. Did you see that movie, "White Chicks"? You could buy a mask- that's the best I think you can do...

Buying a mask is a good idea, or gauze over one eye as if you're half-way through double-eyelid surgery

May I make a few suggestions?

All 'typical' Koreans... Well, based on what I see on campus, maybe the second picture more so than the others.

You're going as the Japanese Prime Minister, and you'll make passes at anyone dressed as Dokdo?

Ubermensch, if you're going for the yuk-yuks anyway, why not go dressed as a racist jerk?
I plan to, and here's my costume, it's really easy to make:

1. Get liquored up
2. Get more liquored up
3. Read Marmot's Hole

Done!

(note: steps 1~3 may be reversed or repeated)

I planned to dress up as an Asian my last Halloween before coming here. I was going to dye my hair black and wear a black pleather jacket and squint a lot.

For you, I think your face is too caucasian looking and you don't quite have the bony skinny look down.

Actually, I'm planning to go dressed as my avatar (another whitey done up as an asian). But then, I don't really have much choice. Wink

JG,

I always liked that pic of Peter Lorre. Wasn't it from Hotel Berlin?
