If the OP is telling the truth, I assume that what Spinoza did warrants a permanent ban from Dave's, doesn't it? If the OP is lying, then he's the one who should be banned. Either way, the mods have an obligation to look into it. |

I don't see how laogaiguk's suggestion is a bad one. Since hack can change his password once a mod has seen the PM, it shouldn't be a problem and might get this situation resolved sooner.
If hack is serious about this complaint (i.e. he isn't a troll), then he shouldn't have any probs with this I think. I wouldn't, given the situation. |
Maybe a mod could look at his account, but hack choose to post the pm, which I personally think is in bad taste. I'm not putting him down for it, just saying it could have been handled diffrently.
If I posted a thread on the forums saying that flotsam sent me an insulting message stating that I'm a jerk, then maybe I'm looking for a bigger fight (sorry to use you as an example flotsam). |
Why are you sorry? I would have reported the PM to the mods. Actually, I did something like that recently and was told a death wish against a companion animal wasn't "really bad." What will it take to get some action against these trolls? |

I agree, it was in bad taste. If hack was serious about his complaint it should have been between him and Spin and the mods.
The rest of us don't really need to know about this lover's tiff. |

That sucks. It's a personal issue between them. If they want to flex their chicken chokers through PM's, then by golly let them.
If I had any say though, I'd ban the snitch. Strip him of whatever manhood he even has left. |

rd,
Please reread my post. I said I was sorry that I picked on flotsam and use him to given an example. Obviously flotsam didn't call me that.

I doubt it, but this certainly doesn't help the gentleman's cred, in a "election race" sort of way. |

Sweet Zombie Jesus, you must be new here.
Voyeurism runs the board. When a mod locks a thread, the thread view count spikes by hundreds. Everyone loves dirt.

A "death wish" against a companion animal, i.e wishing for the death of the animal, isn't "really bad". A death threat against the animal would be bad. See the difference. I think perhaps this is how the mods are seeing it. |

Well, at least this isn't a non sequitur. |
Yeah; unfortunately, Satori takes himself so seriously that he probably won't even laugh at my dorky extremely inside-joke post.

No, I've been here nearly as long as you. I know what you are saying though.
What I meant is, we don't need to know about their little spat, but of course that doesn't meen we aren't happy to know about it and aren't watching this soap opera for developments with glee.

when you use a pretentious and ridiculous phrase like "companion animal" you're just begging people to make threats against it.
By the way, on an unrelated note, did you know that antifreeze has a sweet taste that dogs and cats like but is highly poisonous? If somebody just left a bowlful in a place where a dog might find it, it would probably drink enough to kill itself. |

I will gladly give you my password if you want it. I know posting PMs is not cyber etiquette but when someone sends me a post about Jews dying in Auschwitz showers and asks me what I think of it-KNOWING THAT I AM A JEW-there is no consideration of any unwritten rules to my mind. |

If someone gives you a death threat, do you post it in the local paper or go to the cops?

Oh, I understand. It's safest to pick a timid poster that would never be involved in board squabbles as an example. No worries.
Mod Edit: Removed comment about anti-freeze
