Russian GDP to Overtake Korea's This Year
Russia is likely to post a bigger gross domestic product than Korea this year, the International Monetary Fund revealed Thursday.... The country earned massive foreign currency income by boosting its oil production, producing more oil than Saudi Arabia in the third quarter to become the worlds no.1 oil producer.... Four years ago, President Putin set a goal to double the countrys GDP in 10 years and took measures to reinvigorate the economy, including restructuring the public sector, administrative reform and more attraction of foreign investment. As a result, the economy grew more than 7 percent on average over the past three years.
