I just came from a class of second graders (high school). Their level is rotten (co-teachers say it's because we're in the sticks). Well, not rotten, but bad.

There's one kid in the class -- very clever, but always late, probably bored with most of his classes, perhaps you know the type -- who I have now decided is my favorite monster.

I make the kids write stuff on the board. Today it was answers for exercises. The other kids kept coming to My Favorite Monster for the answers. He'd give them the answers. Then the other kids would say "how to spell?" or something in Korea to that effect. Of course they didn't think about what they were writing, they just wrote what he told them to write. MFM had them writing things like ceffuunngg, Togo, Manchestr, and poop. (The answers were much more mundane: plastic, square, circle, metal.)
