|
Does anyone have a list of foreign owned business in Korea. I'm not refererring to big corporations, but rather small businesses like bars, restaurants, computer stores, etc.
In Canada the expat Koreans have magazines that list Korean businesses so Koreans can go there and speak Korean.
Anything similar for English speaking expats in Korea? |

I hear the National Assembly is owned by North Koreans.
I think the Ministry of Defense is owned by the Japanese, though. |

Just minutes ago I stopped the motorbike long enough to steal the soul of the sky.
As current possessor and thus rightful owner of the sky, I will be preparing fee schedules for fly-over rights within the next week or two. Should develop into a handsome little side-business. |

Skip's Nashville Restaurant in I'taewon; the real estate company at least partially owned by the former bartender of the Pancho's Restaurant when it was located in it's first location across the street from Cheers Rock-n-Roll Bar on I'taewon Street; The, forgive me if I'm mistaken, German or Austrian fellow, Michah (sp?) who, many have said to many others, has a stake in Geckos; the Rocky Mountain Tavern, which is located across the street from the I'taewon Hotel; The Blue Agave "Mexican" place in Cheju City, Jeju Province (exact locale clouded due to inhibations); and, Others that escape this under-the influence "mind" right now.
Daejeon City, Busan City, and other urban or less-than-urban areas feature Waeguk-owned pubs/clubs/nightclubs, too.
I'll post them when the Moosehead, Keith's, and C.C. wears off, eh.
Yep, the R.O.K. has not only foreign bankers but foreign pub owners and, at least, one foreigner who has at least a goodly share of an real estate company, too. |

So the only businesses in Korea expats seem to own is bars and nightclubs?
That's it? In Canada all the Koreans, irony of irony, own Japanese restraunts... or run little motels.
It would be nice to find a computer store owned by native englishee speakers. |

Hey, don't forget the foreign-owned drug dealerships that sometimes get big, snazzy writeups in the media. You're basically right, though. I know Indians, Pakistanis, Mongolians, Ukranians, W. Europeans, Ghanaians, and others in various fields, usually but not always export/import. But with N. Americans, it's BARS BARS BARS!!

And why aren't there any foreign brothel owners? Like with little, expertly managed espresso bars off the lobby. Or dry cleaners. |
