A good friend of mine is leaving Korea in a couple of months and, due to unforseen circumstances, is unable to take her cat.
Luna is a gorgeous 4 1/2-year-old white Persian with ice blue eyes and cute little pink nose and pads on her feet. She's affectionate, quirky, and, of course, house trained. Oh, and she LOVES squid jerky.
My friend is looking for a long-termer who will be able to give Luna a stable home.
If you have any questions or are interested in gaining a new family member, please email my friend directly at:

**NB....If you're thinking about posting here about how irresponsible it is to get a cat only to leave it behind, yada yada.... save it. She has been a good mommy to this little kitty and she's hearbroken at having to leave her behind.

If you think that will stop me, you are quite wrong. But I have learned a I should be more civil in my approach, so I am just going to ask why can't she take the cat home? |

You'll have to ask her. I told her I'd place the ad as you see it, but I'm not going to speak for her otherwise. |

Bucheon. But her mommy would probably be willing to travel a bit for the right home. |

well, her web address is nz, and new zealand (unlike the USA and Canada) requires a long quarantine period, which i think is just cruel. the UK has a new pet passport-type program where you can bring a cat or dog in without quarantine, but only if the cat/dog has spent the last 6 months in a specific country (there's a long list, but unfortunately, Korea isn't on it yet). |

I don't think that is a good reason at all. I will leave it at that though. |

NZ's quarantine and customs regulations are very stringent in an effort to keep the country free of pests and diseases etc. For example NZ has very few poisonous/toxic/noxious insects/plants/wildlife in general, i.e no rabies or snakes etc and we all prefer that it stays that way.
I don't think it is cruel at all. |

yeah, it's a similar policy to the UK's, i just don't see why a rabies shot and medical certificate of health from a vet isn't good enough for a cat or dog.
no snakes? really? cool. |

NZ quarnatine is about a month or two i was gonna bring my cat from Korean back to NZ until my neighbour ran over him.
Britain quarantine is like 6 months for dogs who are coming from a non-rabies free country like Korea! That's what my friend told me here who has a couple of dogs. |

I understand the people out there who say how irresponsible I am for adopting a cat only to abandon her later, I actually agree with you, It's not like me to do this and if there was any way I could avoid this I would. Taking her to NZ is not the issue I looked into the quarantine price and time frame when I first got her and was prepared to go through that, but things have changed in my life, and it is hard for me to take her with me. If people are really interested in my life I will be happy to tell them in a PM but I am not prepared to broadcast everything about me in this forum. I have my reasons, and money is not one of them.
I would also like to add that I did have a prospective new home lined up for her but that fell through last week which is why my good friend advertised here for me.
So if anyone is interested in taking on the responsibility of a beautiful persian cat that really is not a lot of effort to take care of, but gives so much love in return, please email me. |
