Wait, are you responsible for buying these costumes? I would tell the boss to cough up or forget it. I worked at a hogwan where we had to do this, but the boss rented hte costumes.

I live in Busan, but our e-mart had some halloween stuff out last night. No full costumes, but angel wings, freaky fingernails, masks, etc where there.

If your boss won't pay, then tell him you are coming in this:
http://www.fredericks.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Holiday2002&category%5Fname=Costumes-Fun+and+Flirty+Costumes&product%5Fid=90899
Tell him its a traditional American costume.

I don't agree that the boss must pay. You could easily make your own costumes. If all else fails, cross-dress. It's actually not that taboo in Korean culture (I see guys dressed up as women to perform or sell treats all the time) and pretty darned cheap. If the boss doesn't like *that* idea he might be willing to get you some cash.

If you want to spend some dough, go to Itaewon and pick out your very own pimp costume.

www.halloween.co.kr

That's where we had to get ours. You can buy or rent (that's what the high price/low price difference is). Apparently the sizes are alright (biggish), too (this coming from my 5 foot tall coworker telling my 5'11'' self that since they were too big for her they would probably fit me).

forget Costco this year - at least in Yangjae (they do have a little stuff in kid sizes).

Lotte, e-Mart, etc. do stock some as well.

Regards,

G.

Yup, dream. It's meant to be a Neil Gaiman reference (thus the avatar.) I'm a recovering comic book nerd. Embarassed

If you want to go as a giant pumpkin you can run out to Everland. They have bunches of Pumpkin Hats. Quite attractive, if you ask me.

I was in E-mart today and they had some masks and decorations as well as lots of Halloween accessories (fingernails, teeth, a mask that you can make pump blood into).

Bought a boatload of candy for next week.

Jzer,

Any E-Mart should have them, but the one I went to was in Seoul near Gangseo-Gu.

Flotsam,

Are you trying to guess who I am?
