This is for the Aussies here
I have saved up enough now for a small House Deposit , I am looking to buy an investment unit that I can go home to when I am finished here. I am wondering if any one Aussies here have tried to get a Home Loan in Australia using your payslips from over here as a source of Income.
Any help would be appericated |

I haven't, but I'd imagine you'd have some problems with it because the bank won't be able to confirm your employer's details.
It might help to have regular deposits into an Australian account so you can point to a steady source of income. |

I looked at a house in Brisbane a couple of months ago on the internet. I filled in an online form to show my interest in the property and the next day I had a guy from Westpac (who I have never banked with in my life) on the phone. He asked me how much I wanted to borrow... I told him that I would need about $350 000 and that I had a deposit of about 10%. I explained that I had no income in Australia and had been working in Korea for the past 5 years. He put me on hold while he talked to his supervisor for 2 minutes. He came back and told me that would be no problems and asked if I would like to organize the loan now.
I didn't proceed with the loan, but there is no doubt in my mind that it would have been approved.
Hope you can get it as easy as that...my past experiences have not always been that simple. |
