I am working in GoYang (Ilsan), Gyeonggido. Which immigration office do I need to go to for my ARC?

I am hoping I can go to Immi at Gyeongbukgung (as I did last year).

Anyone from Ilsan or north of Seoul in Gyeonggi know the best/closest immi office?

I think on a couple of a days a month you can go to the "city hall". It is sort of behind the Cancer Center. I want to say it is on Wednesdays, but it has been over a year since I have been there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

School's not going to help you out?

I work in Ilsan and my school took me to the office in Uijeongbu.

I was the first foreigner there so they were pretty new to things. As I've had 3 other E2's before and I always went to the Mok-dong immigration office.

Anyway they told me that they called and they were told that because Ilsan is Gyeonnggi-do they had to go to Uijeongbu.

Although it doesn't make much sense to me since before I worked in Bundang which is also Gyeonngi-do and I had to go to Mok-dong.

So who knows, its probably the case of the Immigration muppets giving a different answer depending on who you call.

I think it's every second Wednesday that they send over a couple of workers to the District office (across from Lotte Department store next to the new opera house). You go, hand in your stuff and they mail it back to you in less than a week (usually). Otherwise you have to go all the way to Uijeonbu. You have three months to do it so wait until they come here to save a few hours of travel time.
