Someone told me the entire story.

The gist of it is that these 12 foreignerss got caught doing some drugs (dont know which) AND one of those caught was a recruiter who made fake degrees and transcripts for Gyopos who have been kicked out of the USA/Canada for illegal acts.

1 or 2 of the Gyopos happened to work for CDI. So now CDI will verify the authenticity of all degress etc. and attempt to do background checks.

Gyopos do not get kicked out of their own countries for illegal acts. They are jailed. The people kicked out were KOREANS who had their green cards revoked and they were shipped back home.

*sigh* This again? I haven't been following the news much, but I hope this doesn't get spun into a big scandal.

They found 12 teachers who used drugs? (Of course no mention that two were actually Koreans). What about the drugs SK has been exporting to the North?

And I thought after the Dennis Kang fiasco last year that all foreign teachers were already supposed to have their degrees verified? Why doesn't immigration get their act together?

I do have a question, though . . . are CDI teachers actually on E2s? I thought if they were a gyopo, with a parent who is a Korean citizen, they'd qualify for a different visa (and in that case, their stay in Korea isn't contingent on having a contract). Does CDI only hire gyopos?

Denis Kang, the Super Korean, was part of last year's fiasco? This I didn't know.

That would require doing WORK, and they are too comfortable with their laziness to rock the boat with something as silly as doing their jobs.

I imagine if the gyopo doesn't have his F-4, then he'd need the E-2. I've worked with plenty of gyopos that didn't have their F-4.
