See:

It just opened a few days ago. I've never tried big Rock before because I left Canada before I ever enjoyed the taste of beer, but I had a sampler of six types just a few hours ago and Warthog seems to be the best. |

| I noticed in the cans in the back that there was something called Jackrabbit or something of the sort but they were empty cans to decorate the place and I'm not sure if they have that brand too. Does everybody else agree with me that Warthog is the best? My only association with big Rock before was my dad drinking it in the 90s and I was actually telling somebody I knew about it two days ago when drinking some good Belgian beer and lamenting the fact that the only Canadian beer in Korea is (now was) Molson. |

| What about the food there? Was there some decent western-style options on the menu? |

Not really sure about that as I was pretty full and so we only ordered some nachos with small tomatoes sprinkled on the top. I noticed a big screen in the back too and I assume that's used to watch hockey games though I didn't ask.
Maybe some people can report back on the food after they get back tonight. |

Thanks for the tip. There's a microbrewery here in Bucheon but it's pretty crappy. I went once and that was enough for me. I might give it a go this weekend just for sh-its and grins. |

First thing I'm doing is getting a pint of trad. I'll report back on how it is. If you see two guys with very short hair walk in sometime around 10, the younger one will be me.
Does anyone know if this place is actually brewing the beer itself? I can't decide if it's an actual microbrewery. |

I went last night. I didn't have any of the food, but I did drink the beer. They weren't all good, but some of them definitely were. I liked the atmosphere, as well. They royally screwed up our bill by about 30,000 won, and when we pointed it out, he re-did the bill and then gave us a 10,000 discount, so that was nice.
I think I saw RACETRAITOR there. |

Not in Korea but I know how you must have felt I'm teaching just outside of Tokyo in a little suburb. Not to big, not to small, just a few bars near my house. Personally I can't stand lagers, I enjoy discovering microbrews and always choose one when given the choice. So, I ask the bartender if he has anything out of the usual. He reaches down and comes up with two bottles each of La Fin du Monde and Maudite!! Two great microbrews which I had only recently discovered back home. Man it was one of the happiest moments in my life:) Even more amazingly, he gets them from the local beer and wine shop down the street! So I know have an unlimited supply at my fingertips and they go for only 400 yen a bottle! Only slightly more expensive than premium Japanese beers and cheaper than in Canada. |

You likely did. I was there and tried all the beers. Big Rock is not known for certain things (like Amber or Warthog) but I discovered the black amber is pretty good. Unfortunately the place imports Big Rock from Canada and doesn't brew its own.
The place is larger than I expected and feels more like a Korean hof than a Canadian pub. There was food but it was expensive looking. My friend who was visiting from Japan couldn't stop mentioning the waitress' outfits. The owner talked to us a couple times and proved to be friendly.
It was a lot harder to find than the directions indicated. Oh yeah, and this morning I woke up with the first hangover from beer I've had in years. |

*raises eyebrow*
What did those look like? There was only one waitress when we were there and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I didn't think that people were allowed to just brew beer like big Rock on their own. What other places do that? Is Guiness served in Korea also brewed here then? |
