...and off the wall
This is the kind of weird stuff I do in my spare time. I've always thought that the recordings of kids songs generally suck. So, I thought I'd mess around and make my own recording of a kids song, put it on CD, and take it to my Tuesday kindy class. I think the kids might get a buzz out of this, knowing it was done by me. Now, it's aint nothing flash, I did this in two hours of mucking around. I didn't put nearly the care and time I put into a house track. Plus, I haven't sung for years and smoke too much. But, I still think this is cooler than most recordings of kids songs that I hear. And I plan to get much more into this. So come and check out another side of Satori. I advise to download the mp3 and play it from your hard drive for best results, streaming is very low quality and can cut out and so on. You don't need to be a mensa member to work out which of the two tracks you should listen to...

It's also good because of the short break between verses for the kids to prepare to start reading/singing from the top again, and the variety between them so they don't get bored.
Next song should be, hmm...Letter B?
(sung to the tune of Let It Be)
When I find I can't remember what comes after A and before C
My mother always whispers, "letter B"
The letter B starts Big and Bad, and Ball and Bat, and Battery
Buh buh buh buh buh buh buh buh letter B~ |

Lol! Yeah, there are many avenues that could be followed up. Like, this is a classic kids song, but there is no reason not to compose new songs using familiar material and ideas. You could taylor the song lyrics to what the kids needed to learn. I have to admit I do get bored teaching toddlers sometimes, so Im gonna get right into this as a way of keeping myself stimulated and involved... |

Wow, I just found the whole lyrics. I was a wee bit off but that's how I remember it from our Sesame Street record when I was a kid. Here's the whole thing. Dope.

when I find I can't remember
what comes after
A and before C
my mother always whispers
letter B
she told me B starts
big and bird and
ball and bat and battery
yes buh-buh-buh-buh-buh means
letter B
letter B letter B letter B letter B
she whispers buh-buh-buh means letter B
and when I feel downhearted
mother whispers
B words constantly
like bib Bob Bulb and bubble
letter B
now in my hour of darkness
there's a sound I know will comfort me
it's the buh-buh-buh-buh-buh of
letter B
letter B letter B letter B letter B
my mother whispers B words
letter B |
