Are these people famous? I confess I don't recognize any of them.
Regardless, I don't need them or Michael J Fox to tell me that stem cell research needs to be continued. Whether it's in America or China makes no difference to me.
If I need what they're selling, I'll fly anywhere and pay any price. Period. |

I just googled up the proposed amendment. It's outrageous that anyone would consider attaching this to a constitution. It's as silly as that 800 page EU joke. Here is just the first part of it--it goes on and on...
THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT
Be it resolved by the people of the state of Missouri that the Constitution be amended:
One new section is adopted by adding one new section to be known as section 38(d) of Article III to read as follows:
Section 38(d). 1. This section shall be known as the � Missouri Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative.�
2. To ensure that Missouri patients have access to stem cell therapies and cures, that Missouri researchers can conduct stem cell research in the state, and that all such research is conducted safely and ethically, any stem cell research permitted under federal law may be conducted in Missouri, and any stem cell therapies and cures permitted under federal law may be provided to patients in Missouri, subject to the requirements of federal law and only the following additional limitations and requirements:

I have nothing against stem cell research, but this kind of thing does not belong in a constitution. Adding it by referendum is an attempt at an end run around the normal legislative process. I don't much like the idea of referendums. They are the breeding ground of demogogues. |

Being pro-life, evidently, does not mean actually being in favor of the improvement of life, merely in its non-ending-before-birth-ness. |

Personally, I don't know where I stand with stem cell research. What I am against is how both sides are being represented. On one side, our only hope seems to be in stem cell research...we just don't know. All we know is that it is promising. Also, using victims makes it very difficult to argue the substance of the issue without it turning into a grudge match. ie Rush Limbaugh. On the other side, you have the condemnation of killing life. I personally don't see the strength of this argument either.
It's a very complex issue and asses like Rush Limbaugh aren't helping. |

I will completely agree with that.
I have only read an article reporting that Limbaugh attacked MJ Fox and said he was faking it or acting or whatever he said. I thought that was slimey. Really and truly slimey.
There is room for disagreement on the issue, and I have no idea if Fox was on or off his medication when he filmed that ad. Whether he was or not, Limbaugh should have addressed the issue, not attack someone who has a major health problem. I would use a stronger word for it than slimey, but at this moment, I can't think of a printable one. |

From reports I've seen, the medication causes the tremors.
