Christianity does offer a nice kind of way to get out of guilt of things. You can do anything you want, and Jesus will always forgive you.

Ah, but hasn't it also made many feel like sinners?
So you have a choice, pay with feeling like sinner or use your get out of guilt free card. |

No, it hasn't. Bad people will always do bad things, good people will do good things, but then feel bad after. Christianity doesn't make good people, good people make good people. Christianity doesn't make people "more good" (better is not the word I am looking for), but it sure can make them worse. |

As I've said, Christianity is a moral get-out-of-jail-free card. Most of the Christians I know I consider to be highly immoral people. |

Amazing how people throw logic out the window when it comes to religion. The op is nice, the pastor is a d*ck. Both are (apparently) Christian. Surprise, there are good people and bad people everywhere. I think Sufis are great and Wahabis are d*cks. There are over 1000 denominations in Christianity. The kind we're most likely familiar with is youth evangelical Protestantism (blech) and Catholicism.
Why so simple? For every bad example there's a good one and the lesson that should be learned is that the world is a varied place, but that doesn't seem to be the case:

CNN reported a grandfather of one of the murdered Amish girls said of the killer on the day of the murder: "We must not think evil of this man."
Jack Meyer, a member of the Brethren community living near the Amish in Lancaster County, explained: "I don't think there's anybody here that wants to do anything but forgive and not only reach out to those who have suffered a loss in that way but to reach out to the family of the man who committed these acts," he told CNN.
The Amish have reached out to Roberts' family. Dwight Lefever, a Roberts family spokesman said an Amish neighbor comforted the Roberts family hours after the shooting and extended forgiveness to them.
An article in a Canadian newspaper the National Post stated that the Amish have set up a charitable fund for the family of the shooter.
The Amish do not normally accept charity, but due to the extreme nature of the tragedy, donations were being accepted. Richie Lauer, director of the Anabaptist Foundation, said the Amish community, whose religious beliefs prohibit them from having health insurance, will likely use the donations to help pay the medical costs of the hospitalized children. |

Couldn't one plead ignorance and act like some clueless foreigner who has no idea what you are talking about? I remember I was in a hurry to get a bite to eat at KFC and two Korean gentlemen tried to stop me for a second, and I know almost no Korean, so I didn't why I needed to stop, so I said sorry I don't know Korean and walked out distance, but I did hear the word "Jesus" as I was leaving.
Recently, someone from a certain bizarre Evangelical church knocked on my door. According to a mate of mine, they are some cult that talks about doom, and they have this notion of a certain group of people being saved. Anyway, I didn't fully open my door, and I quickly said I am not interested in any proselytizing, and when they commented on the Canadian sign on my door and said "Ah, you are Canadian", and I didn't acknowledge that, and said "thank you very much, but I am a Catholic, have a good day". I said it one more time and closed the door. They got the message. I am sure there are certain Jedi mind tricks one can use with these people. |
Do you really have a Canadian sign on your door? |

I second "Christianity in motion." Christ would be rolling around in his grave that the religion started in his name allows such behaviour. Luckily for us, he's dead. |
Is he (He?) have a grave to roll in? I thought he rose from the dead on Easter...?
 |
Well the Bible is has that story, but most people in the world is not have believe it. |
I don't know which is funnier. This or the "Holy war" comment. |

I never say that much. When I forget to check the video screen, I just say, "Sorry, I'm not interested" before closing the door quickly. I've tried being nice once, explaining to them that I'm not a religious person, and it was enough time for the guy put his foot in the door. I nearly broke his foot not knowing it was there. |

Well religion throws logic out the window from the get go so that's a bit rich. But I don't think anyone is saying the guy was a knob therefore christianity is bad, or that christianity made him bad. I'm saying he's a hypocrit who clearly has no idea about the foundational principles of the religion in which he is a minister.
I'm unapologetic about the fact that I have complete and utter distain for christianity. This guy is not the reason or the evidence for that. His actions are completely unsurprising, that's all. |
