Have been in Korea for a month and made the error of bringing transcrips that were not sealed...school boy error on my part I know. I have made the call back to my university and because I graduated in 2004 they want to charge me the sum of fifty pounds sterling for the trouble of printing them out again and sending them to my parent address in the uk.

However before heading out here I completed my post graduate PGCE teaching certificate and they said that they will send this with transcrips for free as they will be my first copy of each document. Obviously I would prefer not to have to pay for them however I am worried that they will not acept my PGCE certificate and documents for the visa even though it is post grad, dont know what to do........any thoughts or advice would be greatly appriciated!!!!!

Thank you please!

I'm pretty sure they have changed the rules now so that you hve to show your Bachelors degree and the corresponding transcripts, even if you ahve a higher degree. Will they send them straight to you in Korea. If you sweet talk them and tell them to put it on your credit card, they might send it straight here.

You must have your bachelors degree. That's all they will accept. The a$$es.

From personal experience, I've seen the Daegu office accept opened transcripts (thanks to a stupid director). Second choice is to buy an envelope, seal it up, sign it, stamp it, and see if they accept them.

I've used my master's degree transcripts and diploma with no problem. I don't know if U.S. paper is any different (hard to say in Korea!). Like you, the undergraduate transcripts costs money, whereas the graduate ones are free. Gotta like FREE!

My undergraduate transcripts from the U.S. were free.

I am coming to Korea to look for a job and have sealed transcripts with the official uni stamp over the seal and then tape over the seal also. They are not signed on the back by a uni offical though. Would this be a problem?

Could try what I did for two consecutive years running.

Both times I needed a new E2. Stupidly I neglected to ask my Uni for multiple sealed transcripts to use over the years.

Called them and they said as it was finals, it would take months to get them out to me. I just kept calling, spoke to the exact person in charge of posting them off and basically in a very nice but desperate tone asked her if it's not a job that takes along time to do (printing off and posting some transcripts - what five minutes max...?) would she mind going against protocal and doing it if she gets a spare five minutes today...? I told her that this it is for a job in Korea and if I didn't get them in a weeks time, I would ruin my chances of getting the job I wanted and this would ruin my whole future career.

When presented in these terms I think most people would be like ' "Jeez, wouldn't want the guy/girl to not get a job he/she wanted, well, just this once, I guess it wont take too long..."

Worked for me twice. Got them to post it first class to my parents, that took about two days to get there and then had my parents FEDEX them to my Recruiter's office, which I think took 48 hours, not sure. (get them fedexed to the person who will make your application to save time.) Your uni may even do the FEDEXING if you pay by credit card.

They might be job worthies and not respond, but many people will respond to the human touch method I used, especially the smaller uni's. Well, it's definately worth a try. Just make sure you ask reception who the actual person is who is responsible for the job of posting transcripts. Speak to that person directly and beg if you need to. Worked for me twice.

Good luck.
