I trying to use Utorrent. It worked perfectly the first 3 or 4 times. Now it shows red on availablity. Tested the connection and got the message "unable to map UPnP port. I use limewire for musci. Could this be causing a conflict? What do I do?
I downloaded "She's the Man" from Limewire last night. Got an incomplete file so I've only been able to watch the first 58 minutes. It's right at a good part. UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGG
HELP PLEASE!! |

Disable UPnP in uTorrent.
I assume that you've got a router. If so, open the port used by uTorrent (Options >> Connection) on your router and forward it to your machine's IP. Open the port on your machine's firewall as well.
Check if its possible to reach your uTorrent port from outside your subnet/network.
While you're at it, you should disable UPnP service on your windows.

This is new territory. Thanks for the link.
If you have a url for info/troubleshooting on utube I'd appreciate it. I've looked and can't find the answer anywhere. The software opens, but never connects to the channel. Do you have any ideas on that?

youtube videos are flash videos. if the video is not being loaded, it could be lots of things...
i'd say try to uninstall Macromedia Flash, download the latest version and install. as also mentioned on http://www.youtube.com/t/help_cat04
edit:
doh! thought you had troubles with youtube

disabled UPnP. I'm trying to follow directions to forward port at
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/RT31P2/Utorrent.htm
when I get to .....
Before we can forward ports for Utorrent, we need to figure out what ports Utorrent is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up Utorrent. DONE
Utorrent's Port for incoming connections
To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below.
Do not skip this step!
Please enter the static ip you want to forward to:
192.168.1.________
BUT the ip address I have is 192.168.15.1 I can't input this in the box provided for automatic forwarding. What do I do now?
Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.
I input the ip address I have from following the port mapping, 192.168.15.100, in the address bar and I get a "unable to locate" error message. I'm lost again!
uTorrent is STILL downloading the same thing. It's been over 14 hours. This is wrong! Please help. |

since most routers have default IP 192.168.1.1 the example on portforward.com started with 192.168.1.1 at the router UI address, which does not apply to your case.
This is strictly for using web-based config utility on your router:
Open 192.168.15.1 in your fav. browser, login as 'admin' (default pass is 'admin') and if you still use the default password, change it before proceeding further.
Click on 'Applications & Gaming', then on "Port range forwarding', then you'd have this:
Here in application, enter 'utorrent'
start : <your utorrent port number>
end: <your utorrent port number>
protocol: select 'both' or 'TCP'
ip address: enter your computer's IP address (most probably 192.168.15.100, if still having the default setup)
check the corresponding Enable column entry.
Next click on 'Save settings'.
That should be all, unless your windows firewall is also blocking incoming connections on your utorrent port. For that, I'd urge you to refer to numerous guides on the web.
do let us know what color symbol you see in the utorrent status bar at the bottom. If its green check mark, you're set. |
