Sorry - I know this topic has been addressed in the past - but all the threads I have come across have been fairly old or pretty vague.
Basically I am in total agony with tooth ache. It started yesterday evening and last night I managed only an hours sleep. I was like a zombie in work today and I have to get this sorted out asap!
I would be soooo grateful if anyone could reccommend a decent dentist in Seoul! I have a couple of hours off on Thursday morning and I am desperately hoping to get this sorted then. I'm petrified of the dentist and pain (yes I hate myself for being a wimp!). However, I can't imagine any pain exceeding the way I feel right now!
I don't necesarily need to go to an international dentists, a little English would certainly be helpful, but I'm sure when I walk in clutching the right side of my face they'll figure out the problem. I'm more concerned with finding a reputable and hopefully gentle dentist - that can offer me some decent anaesthetic!
I live between Daebang station on Line 1 and Borame station on Line 7. If anyone can reccommend a decent dentist anywhere near here i'd really appreciate it.
Here's hoping... |

It obviously doesn't hurt enough yet or you would be buying a bottle of Jack and some pliers.

I know of a dentist just a few minutes walk from Sillim station. The dentist speak enough English to get the point across. They do specialize in implants, so they almost always start off by saying you should go that route. Just let them know you dont want an implant and they will fix you right up. Leave exit 2 and walk straight. When you get to the building with the Addidis shop in front go inside and look for the elevators (they are behind Addidis to the left. The dentist is on the sixth floor with a few other doctor's offices. Its chigwa (I dont know how to get the hangul on my computer to appear) if you dont already know. But you can tell just by looking in each office what their specialty is.
Good luck. I was just there last week with a tooth ache and Im feeling fine now. |

There's a good local hospital just across the road from Daebang station. It's just the first sidestreet back on the Youngdeungpo side of the intersection. Dentists in residence. Give them a try.
I feel for ya. During the start of chuseok one year, my impacted wisdom tooth rotted out and I had no choice but to ride it out for three days until the world started up again. That hospital took very good care of the problem for about W50-80,000. And in pretty good English too. |

mrs skinny tells me it's called Sung-Ae Hospital. The dong is actually Shingil. Says it's a kind of all-round medical centre that provides a range of services. However, if they offer you a lollypop, it's probably best to politely say no . Good luck with it.
Failing all this, try the Tom Hanks method with the ice skate and the rock |

| i used to work for a dentist office back home. If you can, until you see a dentist, get your hand on some peroxide, poor some in a cup of water (about half and half) and garggle. It'll dull the pain. As well, get your hands on some Motrin. |
