So I have had poor luck with employers that pay the pension. I am currently looking at a job that is a private agency at a public school setup, and they told me that because I would have less than 100 teaching hours a month I wouldn't need to be in the pension program. Any one know if that might be possible? This is the 4th out of 5 jobs that have said they don't pay the pension, and it being a public school, I am preparing to just go with them on it and figure they can work it out.

Thanks for any help on this and everyone who has helped me with a lot of questions.

Cheers

I think your response should be that since they are only thinking of their bottom line, you will too. And say good-bye.

That is NOT a public school job.

It must be an after school thing? Most of those are just hakwons (or worse) farming (subcontracting) teachers out and you get often get cheated out of overtime, holidays, pension and other benefits.

Some of them are also involved in double bank account schemes for tax evasion.

Be aware and BEWARE.

If you work more than 80 hours a month, the school must enroll you in National Pension. This is the law.
If you didn't get pension on your previous 4 jobs, there's still hope - you have up to 3 years to claim your pension. To claim your pension, make a trip to your local pension office and bring your previous contracts and pay slips (and possibly schedules) to file a complaint. You'll have to make back-payments into the pension system, but you'll double up on that money when you leave the country Very Happy

Hello,

I have a month and a half of vacation time. I only signed on for six months so after my vacation is done so is my contract. The school admin has asked me to sign another contract, this time for a year. I have two questions.

1. When I leave the country in January can I apply for my pension?

2. Do I go though the same process to get my visa for my second stint with the middle school?

Thanks ahead of time...
