There are many websites in Korea that one can use to find a potential friend of the oppostie sex. Some are good, most are bad, and very few of them allow you to truly get in contact with anyone without paying.
KoreanFriendFinder dot com used to be good, but now seems to be fading. Is it just me or has it become over run with women in their mid 30's looking for "soulmates"?
I thought I'd give Ublove a try, and I even decided to pay. However, I later learned why none of the ladies I emailed were getting in contact with me. While I can send messages, and they can receive them, if I include an email address written plainly, Ublove blocks it out and insters "Ubmail" where it should be. The only way they can read the address is if they to are preferred members.
Is that not a bunch of crap??? You pay all that money, go to all that work, and it goes nowhere.
Therefore, if you use this site, simply write you address like this "hippy dippy english teacher in korea at hotmail dot com" instead of "[email protected]"

Plus, some of the 'girls' are just western guys having a laugh.
Good times, good times. |

If dudes actually do that, they have waaaaaay too much time to waste on the internet. That also might indicate some closeted tendencies if you know what I mean.
Anyways, I mailed this one girl and noticed she never added me to msn, but kept winking at me everyday. I sent my address again and more winks. So I finally figured it out.
I am happy to say I met and am still meeting the girl in question, and it was worth the 25 bucks for the membership. |

Well, it only takes a couple of minutes to make a profile, then you just sit back and watch the painfully awkward simplified English and pidgin Korean messages from English teachers roll in. A friend and I made a couple of fake girls years ago, and one of them is still getting mail. Caught more than a few eslcafe posters as well.
Good to hear that the service worked out well for you though. |

Sending messages and stuff is OK, but best is to use chat. Then you just talk to the girl and you can exchange phone #'s and stuff. Worked better for me and much easier.
Ah, an it says that a full member can not write back and you can't give email address if you look at the restrictions. Seems K-girls do not wanna pay. |

Before I learned what it meant, I got a lot of responses from girls saying I live at Cheongnyanri (sp?) 588. |

It's a major train station in Seoul and it's chock full of the "glasshouses" where the prostitutes are. Funny because right next to all the places is the police station. Also surreal is the fact that there is a department store there and the only way to get to and leave the parking structure is to drive past all of them. So all of these families and their kids have to drive past all these hot chicks in bikinis and microminiskirts standing outside waiting for customers. |

I met my wife through UBLove. Seriously. It's our first anniversary next month.
Online dating done properly and with honest intentions is an extremely efficient way to meet someone without all that time wasting crap of, "Is she single? Is she interested in me? etc." It sorts the wheat from the chaff quite well in my opinion. |

A lot of other dating sites hide emails from non-subscribers too. Yahoo is a good example.
UBLove is good for in-betweeners. You may have a steady Saturday nighter, but you may need a wild one for Friday nights. Or a last minute Sunday nighter to put a smile on your face at 7 am on Monday. |
