anybody want to give a soon-to-be Korean newbie some advice on whether to choose Busan or Seoul? I heard the climate is a little more temperate in Busan and that Seoul can get quite a bit chillier. Besides the weather though, how good is the night life in Busan and potential extra-curricular activities there? Things like sports teams to join, amount of westerners to socialize with, bookstores, movie theatres, bars to hang out at, yadda yadda yadda. Any info/advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated!!! Very Happy

I get the impression it's easier to hang out with other foreigners in Busan because there are fewer options among the Koreans.

If you are really into nightlife, then go to Seoul. If you only really want to go out once a week or less, then Busan. There are plenty of foreign bars in Busan, but not so many clubs for dancing. Seoul also has a lot more choices on food and shopping. However, there isn't htat much you can't get in Busan with a little effort these days.
I live in Busan and love it. Seoul is simply too big, dirty, polluted, and cold. Busan's weather is better. You are at the beach. Short ferry ride to japan for weekends or vacations. Check Pusanweb.com for more details. (They just launched hte new version, so its a little hard to figure out. Go to the forums for more info on Busan). Let me know if you ahve any specific questions about Busan I can answer.

What she said. Like anywhere, it depends on where in the city you will be. And who you meet.
