Hello again! I lived in Korea for 2 years. The first was great the second sucked, basically because I worked for a public school with no outside interactions and so isolating!

I have been home in California for 2 months and the job market here SUCKS big time! Not only does the pay suck, I miss teaching! I didnt know I liked it so much until almost everything I looked at looked so boring.

My impression of home is not the same either. Its great to be around English speakers again... but other than that, I miss the adventure.

Ive been offered a job at what I consider one of the best hogwons in Korea. I'm not sure I want to come back again though?!? The big thing is sticking out everywhere I go.. it always really bothered me.

but, I would like to actually learn the language this time... Ill be working with 12 other teachers, so that will solve the isolation.. and I know Seoul like the back of my hand.

oooooooooooo..... I have 24 hours to decide.... any input?!?

would you care to expand?

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add that I am a 30 year old woman looking to find a husband. Im not sure the Korea crowd is that type.. or is it? I remember mostly younger types looking to party.

There are tons of Korean male peasant farmers who have resorted to importing foreign women as wives. You should have no problem landing a husband.

If you're not happy with the prospects back home and you have been given a good job offer, why not return? Give it another year and see what happens.

You never know when you are going to meet the man of your dreams. Staying in California wont ensure you're going to meet that special someone.

Judging from some of the above, you are your own best counsel.

It is possible to want many things at once, and we have to make decisions about how best to organize our lives to achieve those things, emphasizing some things and backgrounding others. Do you believe that there are possibilities in Korea to do the things you want, including finding a mate? If yes, then why not come.
