It's a bit long with some cool pictures, from a guy when he did his visa run.

Hmm, the pictures don't load anymore... but it was a nice lil read. Nice how he got the plane!

Osaka is cool. More expensive than Korea but not as expensive as Tokyo. I wouldn't want to live there in summer, however.

The coolest city in Japan, from my POV, is Sapporo.

Yes. It's cold though. Has an awesome snow festival though.

Cold but not Canada cold Smile I love the grid layout of the city. Everything is like playing a game of Battleship. A4! C3! And I found the women extreee beautiful compared to Tokyo/Osaka. But that's personal taste Smile

Sapporo struck me as a city you might want to live in for a very long time, but tourist wise, there's not a lot to hold your interest for more than 4 days.

Again, I totally agree. The grid layout is great. And true to Japanese fashion and ice be damned, you can see massive high heels and short skirts everywhere, even in the dead of the winter. Wink
But for everyone else, even though I come from a pretty cold part of Canada, it's still cold.

The only thing I noticed to be quite expensive for a day or two visit was transportation: the subway system can be up to nearly ten times what you pay in Seoul. I guess living there would prove it overall a good bit more expensive than Seoul though. Rent is not cheap in either city. I suppose food costs a bit more in Japan too. I was pleased at the price of beer in convenience stores, about the same as Korea but better beer.
Hotels: a bit more expensive there usually.

I met Rory a few times at Bar Bumpin in Gangneung. Talented musician/songwriter & a good guy.

The subway is hella expensive. About $2 or $3 a trip, if I recall. Yeah Seoul is a steal for transportation.
