Well, I have finally ended up with a real crappy school.

- Pay is always late (I have never been paid on time)

I put up with it the first few months...but this is getting ridiculous!

- He borrowed from me more than 1,400,000 but paid me back after one week.

How many bosses borrow money from their employees?

- He borrowed 60,000 Won from me for a "massage" and never paid me back

I haven't said a word. 2 months now and counting....

- I have to live with him

That's right folks! At first it was "please wait a few weeks". Now he's dragging it out, saying "You save money to live with me because no bills". And the guy's a slob!

- He wants me to pay for HIS mess

He said to me today "Every month you pay 40,000 Won. Ajjuma come and clean for us and do laundry and clean dishes."

Um, excuse me? I eat out! I do my own laundry!

- He always swears to the students (and me!)

How many swear words have I learned since working for this guy? Perhaps a dozen if not more. I bet I could, in Korean, out-swear most on this board.

- He gets so angry I was late for work once, but I cannot be angry if he is late for my pay

He freaked out at me last month for being 30 minutes late because of heavy traffic (I was on a bus from Seoul) saying he will fire me if I am late ever again.

- He makes me work on my holiday

Calls me into work "please work one class at night. I know now your holiday but I need you work"

- My last payday was on my holiday, but he did not pay me, so I could not go on my much-needed holiday.

- Always he interferes in my personal life

Telling me what girl he hates me being with, and that I should avoid all foreigners because they are all bad and only have Korean friends.

- He says he is my brother, and uses it when he is my boss

That's right. "If you are my brother, you will understand my situation.."

- He wants a two-year contract

Yeah right. You're lucky you're going to get one more week with me.

- He wants to not pay my one-year bonus

Because I have made many problems for him. Yes, that is his reason.

There is my rant. Just needed to let out some steam.

Shocked How long have you worked for the guy...?
Sounds like bad news...!
I'm sure it's been done before but it's an interesting question - how do you do a runner when you live with the director...?

whiner, that's hilarious...i mean unfortunate. i lived with the boss once. from canada to what the recruiter said would be 'living with another teacher'. that korean teacher was one of the two bosses. it was his apartment, he had bought it. he was early thirties and had been in the commandos along the DMZ during service. he hunted wild pigs along there for sport, and one night showed me the killer commando knife he had. my room was eight by eight (feet), and he'd thumbtacked a standard size korean flag on the wall 'over my pillow'. after i had to wrassle some money out of management from the get-go on arrival (proper airfare reimbursement) we weren't 'pals'. those wild pigs, he just left them there.
what a psycho (not in a good way).

If that's all you think you need to do you deserve everything you get.

EDIT: I guess that comes out kind of mean, but I think you get what I'm driving at- sounds like it's time to take a stand and/or make a move....

I'll make my stand today.

I put up with it because I really love my school, kids, and the city I live in.

But, today is D-Day, and if things go poorly, y'all are getting every last tidbit of information about him, his school, etc.

I knew there had to be a good reason you were so bitchy lately. I was ascribing it to PMS.

Well the guy managed to avoid me all night! What a snake!

I said "look! I have domestic obligations back home, so cut me some cheese here." The boss' wife gave me 50,000 won and a pat on the head. "Toomahllow. Toomahllow. Now he busy with students mommy."

GGRRR!!!! Evil or Very Mad

So the battle is postponed until "toomahllow".

We have a lot of kids, I don't see what the problem is...

He gave me some more dough. Not all of it. Just a few bones to keep me off his back.

Let's hope he doesn't pay me the rest by next payday. Then I will have an excuse to SIGH Rolling Eyes once again change jobs.
