| My friend has a conflict, and it looks like I'll be a woman in Thailand alone over New Year's. Annoying? Mellow? Thoughts or Advice? I like solitude most of the time, but it's money spent if it's kind of a couple place to travel... |

At that time of year in Thailand it is easy enough to meet up with a crowd and you won't be along for long. It is very much peak season down there.
Most of the nicest people I met tended to be on long bus and train journeys rather than bars. |

| Exercise the same judgement you would back home and you'll be fine. I had a great time in Cambodia and felt less harrassed there than I would on a night out in Seoul by myse.f |

You'll be fine. You'll meets lots of folks your age who also came alone. Sometimes traveling alone is better as you don't have to agree with your friends on where you want to go.
Have a good trip. |

| I have always travelled alone, and prefer it that way, though it could also be fun with a companion. Easy to meet people in SE Asia anyway. It may be different for women in some ways I guess. |

| Always travel alone. Have also met up and finished trips in Asia with other women travelling alone or in small groups. |
