Its been two years since I left Korea and I really miss the place...
I - as some of you may remember - was quite harsh on Korea in a variety of articles on the internet and in various newspapers...

However, now, and for the last year or so, I have missed the place a lot. The 24-hour culture, the food, the women; even the PC bangs - basically the energy that Seoul had.

Despite the fact I am doing quite well in a non-teaching career and earning money I could only dream about while in Seoul, there are still nights that I fantasise about jacking it all in and returning to Korea as an English teacher.

I recently went out with a Korean air hostess for Emirates and the only reason I was meeting her was that she cooked Korean food...

So for those of you that slag off Korea - and I was one - bear in mind that you will never get it out of your system....

I will be returning on a media junket next year for the first time since late 2004. Love motels. Galbi. Soju. Egg burgers on the street. Chicken hofs. Double cheeseburgers in Nashvilles. Club day. Drunken pool playing in Itaewon at 6am. Leaves piled up in the streeets in Autumn. The subway. Visor-based adjumas. Health drinks. Ramyeon and cheese. Hmmm......

Great. But why do you need to post this info? Most Dave's board members live in Korea. We know what's here.

Still in journalism? Or have you settled for a "proper career".
Anyhow, well done, I think you had a lot of energy and drive in your writing.

Eames, did you note how this post came directly after my prediction? You would think being pre-emptively predicted to be predictable would predicate that people pre-empt their predictability, n'est-ce pas?

P.S. ^^

Not you mein freund, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I was referring to the "Why post your nostalgia about Korea on a Korea-based discussion forum???" gripe.

People's be wack.

I thought that was odd as well. Does that seem to be a significant part of the Korean experience?
