| The article itself is rather bizarre. The woman doesn't tell us how it was exactly that the arab men were able to do all these horrible things to her, like steal all her money, force her to submit to sex, etc, in a relationship that sounds like it went on for awhile. Wouldn't she have figured out pretty quickly that this romance was a losing proposition? Did the guy have her locked in a basement cellar somewhere? If so, shouldn't she be pressing charges instead of whining on the internet? |
Ya, I sort of said the same thing. There is no information in there at all, just tons of absolute hatred. |

She says she was 16. A vulnerable/ imressionistic age.Did you properly understand exactly everything you got into and how to get out of it as a young teenager?
Anyhow, I don't necessarily give the story much credit- although it of course does encapsulate the experiences of some, no doubt.. I just posted it to counterract BB's endless stream of one sided posts. I kept reading a new thread entitled "Babies killed / evil Israelis" every 5 minutes, so why not dilute it with something of equally low calibre. |

My question is, why do some people use this forum as a means to peddle their propaganda? This goes for both sides involved because I think several people have taken this too far.
This is a general warning to everyone in the thread, if you continue to flame other people you'll find yourself on vacation. Period.

Have a good read Junior. This is what I so strongly oppose (and you what you seem to heartily support).

An opened jaw with yellowed teeth gaped out of its bloodied shroud. The rest of the head parts were wrapped in a plastic bag placed atop the jaw and nostrils, as if to be close to the place to which it once belonged. The bag was red from the pieces that were stuffed inside it. Below the jaw was a human neck slit open midway down: a fleshy, wet wound smiling pink and oozing out from the browned skin around it, the neck that was still linked to the body below it. Above him, in the upper freezer of the morgue lay a dead woman, her red hennaed hair visible for the first time to strange men around her. More red plastic wrapped around an otherwise absent chin. She was dead for demonstrating outside a mosque in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza where more than 60 men sheltered during the artillery onslaught by Israeli tanks and cannons.
Most of the others still had their faces intact. They lay on their silver morgue trays stiffly as unthawed frozen food. One man had a green Hamas band tied around his head; he looked like a gentle shepherd from some forgotten, pastoral age. Another's white eyes were partially opened, his face looking out in horror as if he'd died seeing it coming. Then a muddy, grizzled blob on the bottom left tray, black curls tangled and damped into its rounded head and blessedly shut eyes. A closer look revealed a child, a boy of 4: Majed, out playing his important childhood games when death came in like thunder and rolled him up in a million speckles of black mud. The other dead had already been taken away. |

I think if most people here really understood what was going on, they would do everything they could to put pressure on their governments to demand this come to an end. There is no need for any of it. |

Perhaps she should have dated a British guy instead?

| Jill, 18, got a job at Gatwick airport, and after her first day's work went for a drink with two of her new male colleagues. They got on well and caught the last train home together. On the 15-minute journey, both men held Jill down and raped her, anally and vaginally. |
| Quote: |
50,000 rapes each year but only 600 rapists sent to jail
The statistics are shocking - and getting worse. The truth is that sexual assault in Britain has become a low-risk crime. In 1985 there was a 24 per cent conviction rate in rape trials. By 2003 it had fallen to 5 per cent. |
From this we can extrapolate that all British men are violent rapists, and that the British authorities sanction violence against British women, naturally. |

For a year I got stuck with a radical moslem/arab college roomate who was just like the man who victimized the woman in the OP. He was an engineering major in his 20s and had a 16 year old, local blonde high school girl for his girlfriend/sex slave. He treated her exactly as described in the article. Although this was long before the creation of Al Qaida, this guy had the same ideology and could easily be a member or one of its founders.
I know that this story represents only one man (or maybe a few men) who victimized the woman who wrote the article, so I can understand her generalizations as being symptomatic of her suffering. This kind of person doesn't represent all arab or moslem men, but it isn't at all uncommon to find such men among the moslem population.
It was sickening to listen to my roommate and his fellow moslem friends (who shared his ideology and were involved in similar relationships) describe how their behavior was correct and proper according to the superior tenets of their religion. |

what ever happened to people being people and their backgrounds having little to no substance on determining whom they actually are... in other words, what ever happened to sanity and logic?
gross generalizations are ignorant in their very existence. I know and have many good arabic/persian/caucasian/asian/indian friends whom all abuse women or treat them like angels. It's not because of where they come from, it's just about whom they are. If you want to be ignorant and believe that ALL arab men are pigs, then so be it, but don't go around trying to feed it to others. |

same goes for white people, same with blacks, asians, indians, fat, thin, midgets and in-betweens... men are men and it's not a specific breed of man that hates or mistreats women more than another. It's mostly just men in general. Let's face it people, women's rights have still not been fully granted and we're stupid if we think that they have. Don't get me wrong, I'm a man and I don't agree with feminism in it's entirety but there are many truths to it and mostly, it's that sexism predominates nearly all cultures. Same goes for racism. |

| Well you're all debating the principles of the issue, which is good. But what I'm saying is that the article is a fake. She says "I met arab men" in the plural, and refers to men several times. So either she was dating multiple arab men simultaneously, or she dated several in a row. I doubt the arab "men" would put up with her sleeping around. And I also doubt that after having one such terrible experience that she described that she would jump right into a string of further relationships with other arab "men". I just don't believe the article at all. |

I also think this article is an appeal to shock and emotion. This makes it extremely low class journalism. To me it's nothing more than manipulative emotional propaganda. I think Big Bird and Junior are equally equally undesirable fanatics. |
