In case you're sick of the slop they serve at the Indian restaurant downtown, I discovered a better one....
It's called INDO BANG RANG GI, but the sign is written only in Korean.
(인도 방 랑 기)
It's just outside the north gate of Kyungpook University. It's on the 2nd floor. I can't remember the prices, but items were between 2000 and 6000, depending on what you order.
Ali Baba's is still the winner, but it's far for me to go.
While on the topic, has anyone been to Pak-Asia in SungSeo recently. Things went bad a while ago when the main cook went back home.
How is it now?? |

Heh. I remember the one downtown. I thought it was ok. The best Indian food I ever had was in Fukuoka. |

Hey Eye, there's also one in the Yeungdae area. I don't know how good it is--it's the only Indian restaurant I've ever been to but if you're interested in tripping down there to investigate sometime, I could give you more specific directions. I liked their garlic naan. Again, can't speak as to its authenticity though. |

That downtown one (the one that sells incense at the counter, and is on the 2nd floor, and you sit on the ground, on pillows)... has the greasiest, crispiest chapatis/flatbread I ever ate. So not indian food. And a big cokkroach (won't let me spell cokkroach the correct way) crawled out from under a pillow beside us. We threw it on the floor and slapped it with a shoe. They gave us free lassis for that, but they were lukewarm and bland.
Alibabas is #1!!!! I love the tea there, and the custard. MMMMMMMMM. Oh and the lamb. And the price! $10 all u can eat? Hell ya! Weird, never thought I'd reminisce about foreign food in Daegu. |

Oh, the indian restaurant in pusan, across from hyundae beach is awesome too. Their garlic naan rocks. There's this milky tomatoey dish there that's to die for.. I forget the name of it. |

I went to this place INDO BANG RANG GI on the advice of another foreigner spent nearly 30,000 won and left the place hungry with nearly all the food still left on the table.
We ordered cheese nan, chicken masala, and daal. The cheese nan was not stuffed with that Indian cheese but instead was nan with cheddar from Costco melted on top. Edible but not very good, kind of like something you would make if you were really high and didn't have any groceries in the house.
The daal tasted just like refried beans out of can. Again edible but not very good and didn't taste anything like Indian food at all.
The masala was made with gochujan and although incredibly spicy again tasted nothing like Indian food.
Aweful. Unless it's changed owners in the past two months I don't know how it could be any better. If you still insist on going. Go for lunch. There's specials so you won't feel as pissed when you leave. |

Anyone tried the Vietnamese place behind Homeplus in Sung-seo? It is back near where you enter to park (from behind Homeplus, go left and turn right at the T). Second floor, sign in Korean.
I don't think I've seen it mentioned here, and if you didn't have a car and were driving to the Homeplus parking lot, I doubt you would have passed it as there is little other reason to be on that street. |

Do you mean the Homeplus in Yongsan-dong? I'd definitely be interested in checking it out. |
