The camera version I saw was quite acceptable--look for the one that includes Spanish subtitles (yes, has the English ones, too), as there's another version floating around where the subtitles are lopped off . Since this is a "Kazakhstani" production, the not-perfect quality makes it seem even more real. And you don't have to wait another month.
BTW, Borat II is a long way off since Kazakhstan's one camera is being used by anti-Jew warrior Melvin Gibson. |

But he didn't seem to catch on that it was a charade. It seemed (to me) he thought Ali G was for real, and he just couldn't bear to continue dealing with a buffoon. |

But Sacha Baron Cohen is not without his supporters in Kazakhstan.
Watching clips on the internet, 24-year-old Tamara nearly rolls on the
floor with laughter.
"Look at him - he's hilarious," she says.
"Of course its ridiculous to think that people will believe this is
real Kazakhstan. The government is so worried that Borat will damage
Kazakhstan's image overseas, but I think it's just making people
curious about the country."
Yestor Nakupbekov, 22, nods in agreement.
"I've seen the government-sponsored ads on CNN and other channels. And
these ads are so boring, so trivial. Borat is the best promotion for
Kazakhstan," he says.
"Borat is Cohen's most successful character because of our
government's reaction and I think this is the biggest joke," adds
43-year-old Rozlana. |

Psst...Just letting you in on the joke...it's okay to laugh because it's supposed to be juvenile...although walking around and telling grown men "I kiss you" to produce a reaction is pretty lame.

Fair enough, you are obviously an individual of refined tastes and intellect. I will leave you to whatever it is that the intelligentsia are currently occupying their free time with to go and watch borat being told to *beep* off by snarkey new yorkers which amuses me to no end. |

| Did any of you notice the similarities between this website http://www.istanbul.tc/mahir/mahir/ (a genuine person who considers himself some sort of turkish lothario) and the beginning of the film in Borats village where he lists his hobbies as table tennis, sex and sun bathing? |

Clearly Uzbeki Propaganda!
Interesting to note that the Borat movie has received a 93% rating on rottentomatoes.com . Very high for any movie. Probably the highest rating ever for a comedy.
To each their own but it isn't brainless like some would suggest. |

Saw it last week (right before I came to Korea) and LOVE LOVE LOVE it...don't go in looking for Hamlet though...
Excite.com news had an article yesterday about how many of Borat's "targets" are mad at being duped and a few are suing. BOOOO!! Just because they're that dumb and can't take a joke!! Plus they all signed releases.
Also, as for the MAHIR guy in Turkey, yes, he is mad at Borat too and claims his schtick was stolen. They are similar but there are plenty of Borat/Mahir types running around Eastern Europe/Eurasia!!
p.s. Some of you guys might want to avert your eyes during the fight scene with Borat and his buddy!! VERY DISTURBING!!
