|
|
Of course I can google, and I've done so, but I'm just wondering if anyone has discovered a really excellent and comprehensive guide to Korean food for the English-speaker? I have learned about a number of wonderful things so far, a few different major classes of kim chee and pork dishes for example, but perhaps there is an Ultimate One Stop Resource on the Web that I haven't managed to find yet? Whenever I go out to a restaurant I see a hundred new things on signs and menus that I can't understand, and I'm keen to find new things to eat.
Koreans will help me of course, but I won't be starting my job for a week or two yet, and I take my time about making friends. So any great Korean food links will be appreciated! |

| Although our descriptions are not as detailed as much we'd like so far and we haven't had time to add photos, recipes and ingredients, but with over 600 food pages, I'd hazard a guess that our Korea food database could be the largest one on the net. |

| Find an eating place called "Han Sot". I think it means Lunch box. Its a Korean fast food place but its real Korean food. It has a good picture menu and the meals cost W2,000 - W3,000 so you can afford to make mistakes. |

I know about Han Sot, it is a great chain! Last time I was in Korea I ate there often -- but I wasn't very adventurous about the choices; I will try to be more wild and crazy this time. It seems there is a Hansot in this new place I'm in, I must visit! I remember last time I would always make the Hansot staff giggle by asking for extra soy sauce and salt to put on my rice |

| There was a really good book I saw last year but didn't buy. It had names (English and Korean) and descriptions of hundreds of dishes. I wish I'd bought it. Does anyone know the name? (I'm sure there were different ones out there) |
