Upon finally deciding to accept a job offer at the Kid's Herald School in Jungnang I got an email from a recuiter in Seoul saying that she'd sent my CV off to a school called Little Brown English School in Bundang and they now want to hire me - no interview required. Here's the two offers:

The Bundang school is offering a better contract, there's no mention of a housing deposit and they have put my set hours in writing unlike the Herald school who's word I just have to take. The only other plus point of the Jungnang job is that there's another teacher from the UK starting at the same time as me who got the job through the same agency (ATC) and I think that would make settling in a bit easier. Ideally I wanted a job in the centre of Seoul but they are few and far between. Jungnang seems to be not as far away as Bundang but does anyone actually live there? I put a post up asking this a few days ago and got no replies and I haven't been able to find anything in previous threads. However, I have been assured by current teachers at the school that it's a decent, clean, place to live and central Seoul is easily accessible via the subway. I don't even need to ask about Bundang (hi Tiberius!) but just wonder if it's as far away as it looks. Anyway, give me your thoughts people I need your help...

At least he's holding up his end. This is my third post today, and it's not even lunch time! What a sociopath!
Def. Bundang.

Oh, and try to get them to send you pics of your place in Bundang. |

My wife and I are actually moving to Jungnang-gu this month. It's an inauspicious little part of of East central Seoul. Just north of the river. It seems to be a very affordable place to live though. A sam-gyup-sal meal was 4900!!! Try getting that in Bundang/Gangnam!!
Also, we will be 5 minutes from Sangbong Station, Express Bus Terminal and Sangbong Costco. All of which I'm very happy about!!!
I've lived in Bundang too and would say that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Bundang is nicer on the eye than Jungnang-gu. However, Bundang bored the bayjesus out of me and I was constantly annoyed by the fact that the place goes to sleep at around 10:30.
Basically, if you're a bit soft and can't handle 'real' Korea, then go for Bundang. If you want to be in the big smoke and be able to order a pizza after 10pm then go for Jungnang-gu. |

| I'm sick of foreign trash desecrating Holy Bundang. Get the *beep* out. Go to Jungnang or that Ilsan dump. |
