I'd like to know a lot of different coffee/tea shops (possibly restaurants and bars) or other places that offer free wireless internet service. I have a lot of computer work to do now, and I think it would be good for me to do some of it out of the house.
Are there certain chains, like Starbucks or Coffee Bean, which standardize wireless in all locations? If not, then are there certain locations that offer wireless? Are there any non-chains that offer wireless.

I live in central Seoul. So, I'm mainly interested to know places in the central area, which I think of as being somewhere between Hyehwa, Shinchon, Gangnam, Wangshimni, Jongno.

Thanks for any tips.

Go to Starbucks and talk to the person behind the espresso machine. They should be able to hook you up with wireless. You might have to download something in order for it to work properly (depending, if memory serves me).

You might also try Hongdae~ a little further than you stated. Oui cafe has wireless and is a charming little shop. The best java is Kaldi cafe~ though the wireless isn't as strong. (Usually, I have to get a seat near the window.)

Tom Tom's has wireless. Love their hot apple soft pretzels!! Yummy!
BTW, does anyone know if Coffee Bean have wireless hook-up or not?

Good luck.

You can get a wireless HSDPA modem from SKT. My work has one for testing right now and it works everywhere in Seoul.
