I'm planning to go skiing in Korea for the first time this winter. I'm located in central Seoul and just want something that's convenient for a day trip - although am allergic to mass crowds pushing and shoving on the slopes!
I just wonder - is it possible just to turn up at the relevant bus stop on the morning you want to go to a resort and be able to go asap, or do you need to book bus tickets days in advance? Do you also need to reserve a ski pass and ski rental in advance, or can you just turn up at the slopes and hire?
If you need advance reservation, can you reserve through travel agents (can anyone recommend some non-online ones) or do you have to reserve at the bus stations?
Finally, will the resorts provide everything including ski pants and goggles, or do you need to bring your own?
Thanks for any tips. |

I'm not an avid skier but I live right near Yangji (about 1 hour from Seoul) and there are several ski "resorts" in the area. They are nothing compared to North American or European slopes and they make their own snow but they are very easy to get to from Seoul.
Take a bus from Nambu Terminal. Yangji Pine Resort, Jisan Resort and a few others...the fare is about 3000 won.
I'm not sure about lift fees/rentals etc.
I do know there are some nice looking bars around. |
