Almost every day I am swiped, grazed, or generally inconvenienced by the scooter/mortorcyle driving quick service guys. They zip around like the own the sidewalk and honk or yell at you if (heaven forbid) you are actually walking on the sidewalk (and not jumping out of their way).

I usually find that Gangnam and Samsong Dong are the worst for it, but you can find them anywhere. Today, I found one in my neighborhood.

I was walking down the street and noticed one heading toward me (up the sidewalk). This was not a little scooter mind you, but one of those bigger bikes (takes up more room). We both seemed to "come together" at a point where the sidewalk narrowed. I decided not to move. (Now I know some may debate that decision, but what the hell, I've been here for 5+ years and am entitled to make it)

I pointed at the road and told him that is where he should be driving, then we kind of edged by each other. After he passed me he stopped his bike and jumped off. I guess he didn't like me telling him where to drive, so he ran at me and grabbed me. I reversed his hold and put him in a semi-choke and whispered 조심해요 into his ear. He seemed to calm down so I let him go.

We proceeded to argue a bit then I noticed he had some serious beer breath (at 2:00pm). At that point, I realized there was little point in continuing the conversation and we both seemed to go our separate ways.

The point to the story? There isn't one.

I doubt either of us leanred anything from each other.

Wait, I think he learned not to grab a 외국인 - but that's about it. /shrug

Damn I was gonna stick up for him up until the grabbing and lost all hope with the beer breath. Those guys that do deliveries have some crazy requirements...

So he shouldn't be wasting time yelling at someone..

Anyway, nice move Cap'n. People who drive scooters under the influence should be decapitated before a crowd of hyenas.

Yeah, I know the yellin' bit is usually a waste of time for all involved. I just didn't want him to be able to move me asidfe without at least knowing that I objected.

Like I said, in no way do I think I did the right thing - it just happened is all.

If it were not for the fact my brother died on a motorbike, I would rejoice every time one of those scumbags gets skittled. The calous disregard for their own lives I can ignore, same for others I cannot. W@nkers.

I like how he was maddened by someone pointing out where the road was!!! What a nerve!

Good job Captain. Those guys are a serious aggravation and one of the things I will never accept about living in Korea.
