|
|
I would like to leave my laptop for 3 weeks at the airport in BKK. I don't want to mail it to Canada as I've read it can get held up at customs and you may have to pay duty on it unless you can prove it was purchased in Canada (which I can't)
So the alternative would be to leave it at BKK airport while I travel around SEA..
Is this safe? or should I just kiss it goodbye as I'd probably never see it again?
Help please! |

I don't know about the new airport left luggage service/dept. But at the old Bangkok Intl airport ALL the packages and luggage left at the Left Luggage Service were X-rayed for security reasons (bomb??).
So I guess EVERYONE at the counter is going to know that you have left a (valuable) computer there. That said, nobody stole my smelly old Korean winter clothes that I stored for 1 week. |

Yeah, I wouldn't leave anything valuable there.
I am guessing you will be returning home after a vacation in Thailand?
Most hotels will keep things behind the desk.
Also, I have left things at hotels/guesthouses in the Khaosan and Sukhumvit areas of BKK. Some charge a nominal fee, about 100 baht per week if I remember well. Some hotels will even store stuff for free if you stayed there and are heading to explore the islands or whatever.
Good luck |

Why don't you network at ajarn.com I'm sure you can find a teacher who will let you stow it at their place for a while...
I wouldn't leave it in an airport locker... |

hold on...if you live in Korea for over a year purchases you make whilst living here are considered living expenses and are not subject to duty. But I have NO idea.
I was told something to these regards when I came into canada in 2004...but I can't remember |
