Alright, I posted some info about Itaewon places and got some decent responses. Does anybody know about any meeting places in Ilsan or Bundang. Basically some establishments that do not cringe at the sight of foreigners and are somewhat cool. Again, I'll grant a wish to the poster that offers the best advice. |

I can tell you about Ilsan... I lived there last year.
My favorite spot is in Juyup.... Behind the Outback, it is called JJ Mahoneys ( Related to the one in Seoul? I don't know) The owner calls himself JJ and is a riot. Lots of foreigners hang out there and there is often live music. It is on the 8th floor... walk under Outback and you should see it.
There is another spot called the Underground in Madu ( By the speedy building) I don't know the exact directions but someone should be able to give better ones than I could. This place sometimes has live music too. And english speaking staff.
I did find one other place... called the Old rock... in Bangashi.... by Wonderland, Kid's Collage up a side road off the main strip. The owner has thousands of records and cd's of just about every type of music.... It is a great spot if you are missing out on music... They will play any request.
I hope this helps |

Any of the bars in the major sections of Bundang have no problems with foreigners. The one that is probably the most used to foreigners and has the nicest staff is Posse in Samsung Plaza. |

There is a foreigner bar in Hwajeong. It is maybe 5 minutes from the station on foot. It's good.
To get there, go out exit #4 and walk on the sidewalk. It is made out of some type of rubber. It feels weird to walk on. Then keep walking until you see the district office. You are close then.
Then you should turn right. Ask for directions. It is called 'Adventure Korea'. |
