It's off the chain. This game is crazy. Much better than the original. Graphics are a little better too! Still running at a cool 68 fps.

As a big fan of the orginal, (nearly finished my second run-through) I'll be 'acquiring' this one promptly.

Got it 2 days ago.

Not sure what to think about both FEAR and my lowly system. Yes, it's uber-tweaked and overclocked, but I am running fear full on everything, albeit only at 1024x768, without a slowdown or hitch. No, I can't turn on FSAA, but I have 4x AA enabled and it's running much better than I would expect for an aging 9800XT 256MB card.

Anyhow...the expansion is pretty darn cool indeed.

Shocked WTF? Demo, what are you specs? How can you be running your game on 1024x768 like my system? I wonder if I should increase resolution?

Let me know. Also if you can, run the test settings option under performance and let me know what you come up with. Please.

P4 2.8 @ 3.5, Radeon 9800XT 256MB @ 400/370, 1GB PC3700 1:1 , almost no services running.

No big deal really. An old computer by any standards, yet it runs like a top. No, I'm not getting super framerates, but it's smooth, very playable and looks great.

With your rig, it should be running at at least 1280x1024. You will have to enable that resolution by editing a file...Google it. I would try 1600x1200, full on, no AA or AF and see how it goes. Disable all unnecessary services, especially virus scanners, file indexing services, etc, and you will probably get a good rate.

What kind of monitor do you have? I have a 21" Samsung CRT and the game really looks smart.

CL,

I run F.E.A.R at 1680X1050 (yes, widescreen monitor, 16:10) with all settings at maximum. It's very smooth. I believe my 7900GT is well up to maxing out F.E.A.R so your 7900GTX should eat the thing up at high resolutions.

meh. It was alright. More of the same really. Finished it very fast and it left me with the same slightly disappointed feeling that FEAR did.

FWIW I played it at 1600 x 1050 on the new 22" wide I bought for the new core duo machine.

Good thing Splinter Cell: Double Agent is out now... is it enough to tide us over until HL2:EP2 and Crysis? Doubtful.

Topsync 5ms 1000:1 19"

I can't remember the max res. This monitor was 285,000 when i bought it. I had already spent so much money that i went with an avg. monitor (my mistake.... Crying or Very sad ).

Yeah but man, that part in Interval 2 where your buddy is with you and the shit hits the fan! That's insane. Much more intense action than the first. Hey, are you still online? I haven't seen you in a while!
