Anyone know when the Macbook pro core 2 duo will be out in Korea? It's out in Canada and the States already, but not available on the Korean Apple site. What gives?? I really want to get this thing. Will it be available here at all?

It's out... HOWEVER, it's only the 2.0 Ghtz version or the 2.16, they have a 2.33 out in the US. I would buy from the US Apple store if you can because it's cheaper.. Macs are very overpriced in Korea. Gotta love punitive tariffs.. I guess Samsung is afraid that apple is a better machine..

Yes, the Apples in Korea can be set up with an English OS.. you can set up whatever language you want.. when you first start up the computer after you first open the box, there's a setup menu that prompts you for your language..

You can order from the US, but you'll have to order from a third party such as Amazon (who ships to Korea) or have the computer shipped to the US then mailed to you here in Korea by a friend or someone. However, the Apple Store Online (the Korean version (http://store.apple.com/080-3404-622/WebObjects/koreastore)) has the full line of computers.. including the Core 2 Duo 2.33Ghtz MacBook Pro.. (I checked today, I'm about to order one.)

Of course, if you have a US friend or family member, you can buy from the Apple Store for Education (online) http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/routingpage.html (having it shipped to a US address) and save a few hundred bucks, which will offset any potential (10%) import tax that you might have to pay when the computer arrives in Korea..

Do tell.

Memory?
HDD?

What else did you buy with it / for it?

What had you been using before, and why did you decide it was time to get something else?

I just ordered my first Mac--17 inch Macbook Pro with 200GB storage and 3GB RAM. I almost peed when I hit the enter key.

Now I feel like Eric Cartman waiting for his Wii.

Question: Does anyone know about Hangeul or other language keyboard sheets for laptops...?

ttp://www.apple.com/macmini/specs.html

I bought the 80 gig one

with it I bought an Apple Keyboard 33,000

A Palvo scroll mouse 20,000

Already have a rather new PC Bank CRT 17"

I used a Toshiba Notebook before, but the screen burnt out and now for the second time the HD is going out.

I liked the Mini for several reasons. It is very small and weighs 2.9 lbs

The Tiger OS seems to eliminate many steps that Windows has you go through. It sets-up applications for you and I could go on and on about it, but I am still discovering things. A few things is that it lets you write and edit PDF files. I am using Microsoft software on it as well. It will encrypt your HDD with 128 encryption and it has a DVD burner.

Hey MASH, did you get the educational discount? Someone else posted that it was quite easy to get here. Also, did you upgrade the processor/ram etc?

How much did you end up paying?

Isn't the max harddrive space on MBPs 160GB? How can you cram 3GB of ram into it if it can only take a max of 2GB? Either you're lying or you're the only Mac user with these specs...

i did not inquire about a teacher discount and the guy who sold it to me spoke very little English. Had the actual store been open it would have been easier to negotiate on that, but a colleague told me they had tried without any success.

I bought the Apple keyboard and scroll mouse and it came out to about 900,000. No upgrade yet. You can upgrade both the ram and the gig space. Gig space can go up to 160.

There is Microsoft programs in it as a free trial- to buy freakin Microsoft programs it is about 400 US. I am looking for an alternative.

There is still a lot I do not know and need to learn: for example how rto use the Automator; what to use it for.

Or, you need to look more closely at the specs.

However, what's with the 200 gig hard drive being only 4200 rpm? WTF is up with that?
