I was just wondering what the typical or expected clothes are for teachers?? Any hints on what to bring?!?!?

dockers, shirt and tie. sometimes you won't be expected to wear a tie. depends on the school, but i have to wear a tie.

In my school we are extremely casual - I wear jeans and a collared t-shirt most days (as do most teachers). A guy who left used to wear shorts and sandals to class in the summer! Its kind of funny - I get comments (from both teachers and students) if I actually wear slacks and a long sleeved shirt. The 2 times I decided to wear a tie, I got outright stares.

Boy, I sure do love kindergarten work...

Work at an elementary school, and I wear jeans all the time, albeit with collared shirts or a sweater. During the summer months I get away with t-shirts.

Again, it depends on the school.

you can dress basically however you want in most jobs. some people will like you better if you dress very sharply. while others will think you look like a stuffed shirt.
wear whatever you want, really, unless your school tells you otherwise. can't go wrong with button down shirts and casual slacks, though.
personally i tend to push it a bit sometimes, and wear raggedyass jeans and flipflops. I figure if they don't respect me in casual, the suit won't help much. Hopefully they'll respect me for what i say and do, and not for what i'm wearing.

I say try to find a happy medium between casual and business casual. I've noticed this is all advice for dudes. As a female, I'll usually wear black pants and a shirt that is you know, clean, no holes. Sweaters when it's chilly.

I've worn tshirts under blazers before, I wear tennis shoes every day, I've worn ridiculous 80s legwarmers.

As long as you look clean, they're not really going to care too much.

Heh I hear ya I work at a public school and I'm curious how much I'm pushing the lazy envelope. Today wearing jeans, sneakers and my uni's hoodie. Get's way too cold here gotta keep warm somehow.

I've noticed though my school is fairly lax on the dress code, I've seen teachers wear sweater and jeans occasionally. Being a somewhat ghetto area probably helps in this case ;p

boys middle school. its in EPIK, but somehow private (teachers have been there for 10 and 15 years.)
