This will be my first venture to Thailand, so if my questions sound stupid...

it's because they probably are. Laughing

Do I need to change money before I leave Korea?

Can I use a Canadian bank card to get more money if I need to?

How much money would I need to stay for a month.... not too luxurious, but not too cheap either?

Thanks in advance

Don't take WON to Thailand. Change it to something international in nature: US$, EUROs. You can use your Canadian card in SOME places but there are lots of places that you CAN'T so you will need some cash too.

You can have a comfortable time for $1000, GREAT time for $3,000 and get by on $500. When I do long term travel I like to have about $50 per day with about $500 for reserve. It is easy to bring back unspent money but it is a pain in the axx if you run short.

$1000 is only 10 x $100 so there is no reason to not carry cash. 4 pockets and your sock can take care of a lot of it while you travel and the safe at the hotel is fine for when you are out and about.

Just my 20 won worth.

P.S. 74 countries visited now and that formula has always kept me in good stead.
