Laptop hardrive is dying, when I start up it makes a bunch of squealing, bird sounds for about 15 minutes. I checked for viruses etc. I think the drive is dying as each time I reboot the noise lasts longer.

I now want to buy a desk top hard drive. Obviously, Yongsan is the best place to go, but I heard so many bad stories of the place.

If anyone knowleagable would go with me I will make it worth your while

Thanks

this may be the only time in the history of the world that the phrase "I will make it worth your while" is not used by a prostitute.

Interesting that you know so much about what prostitutes say. I did not know prostitutes use that expression, but I am not familiar with their jargon.

Making it worth your while is that I will buy you beer afterwards. LOL

Actually, now I am seriously considering buying an Apple mini "The Cube". You can get it with 60-160 gig, 1.83 Ghz Intel Core duo, 512 MB of memoryCombo CD-RW/DVD-RW

4 USB Ports

Sounds quite attractive for the price and portability

Also less vulnerability to virus and exploits

Less vulerability because there are less virus aimed at sabotaging Macs and that less people (hackers, etc.) are interested in Macs. That's all.

and once Macs become popular enough you know that virus writers will have a heyday due to the overconfidence and blind trust Mac users have in their "secure" computers.

It would be cool if Dave's people (or not!) got together for Yongsan trips. Many heads are better than one and everyone could share their computer and Korean expertise. It would certainly make Yongsan a lot less intimidating.

In saying that, I don't need anything from there until the New Year at the earliest.

Now THIS would be something I would DEFINITELY be up for. Give me a few months (around March) and I'll go with you! That'll be a blast! Get some food (a fat juicy burger), go shopping at Yongsan.....
