Well, non-profit I believe. So it's not neccessarily the best gauge of what the type of media that is supported by the American marketplace.
Then again, you could probably say the same thing about the BBC.
It's always a bit dodgy judging media culture by the non-profit or state-funded outlets. I come from the most right-wing, rednecked province in Canada, but if you were going by our public radio station, you'd assume the place was a hotbed of cosmopolitan taste and critical thought. |

No one said there aren't brilliant components of the American media.
I previously lauded NPR. Mother Jones is good, and I do like the New York Times, generally speaking. |
