|
|
Citibank has a $10 fee and free checking if you make two bill pays per a month. You might also get free checking if you get a savings account. I'll have to reread it.
(It's free if you have lots of money in your account.)
Will I find a lower incoming fee somewhere else?

| Credit unions generally have lower fees, although you'd have to have the account set up from your home country. Mine charges $5 per incoming wire transfer. |

When I checked my credit union it was going to be prohibitively expensive. I can't even remember how much but it was something ludicrous like 4%. Even the tellers thought it was ridiculous and recommended we go open an account at the Scotiabank (which would have been the middleman in the transfer anyway). |

I just got another email from First National:
Hi Jeff~Thanks for the inquiry! It is true! First National Bank does NOT charge an incoming wire fee which is rare these days. It is very common for most banks to charge at least a minimum of $10.00 for incoming wires. At this time, we do not have a fee if you are a customer of our bank. Outgoing wires in the United States for our customers cost $20.00. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a great day! |

I signed my email -Jeff and my email was casual. The casual formal thing is very ambiguous in the US anymore. You just have to guess what the other person is expecting. Personally I prefer informal. -Jeff |

| The bank of poet13 does nt have any incoming or outgoing fees. In fact, a representative will meet you at your workplace and hand carry the cash for you. |
