And the winner of the 2006 most brainless post is...

Summer Wine,

why? would he/her be mad? Not much of an all forgiving God who would hold all that against me. For an all loving deity, seems to be alot of conditions attached.

I hope I don't have to either. I'd probably be unimpressed.

I think does he have one is the more relevant question. This thread bites.

Whose God are we talking about here?

...and if you just answered the above question, punch yourself in the face.

All religion is created by man as social control.

As we were supposedly created in His image, I suppose He must have one...

Hear! Hear!

As I've said before, any so-called god worth its salt would have to give a pass on non-belief (especially considering, as Bertrand Russell pointed out, the lack of evidence provided). Any so-called god that didn't would just be a thug.

OP, do you require fear of meeting some invisible so-called "friend" to manage your life?

EDIT: Countdown to locking - 10, 9, 8,...

I wonder what would happen if a study was done (emotionally and physically, especially brain scans) that would try to explain what the OP is missing that she has to add a big imaginary being in her life to tell her how to live and offer support that non-religious people don't need.

Who knows, there might be a God of some sort, but almost definitely nothing like what is said in the Bible (as the Bible is a boring storybook, nothing more). And in the small chance I am wrong, I would tell Summerwine's God to go screw himself if I ever did meet him.

An atheist kindy teacher says to a little boy: "If heaven was real, what would you do when you got there"? The little boy immediately replies "I'd find Mickey Mouse and ask him to be my friend"! The atheist teacher continues "Ahhh, but what if Mickey Mouse isn't in heaven? What if he's in hell"? The little boy thinks for a minute and says "Then you can ask him to be your friend".

If it makes you happy that your version of god will take revenge on us non-believers, well, pretty sad. I personally think you're wasting your time and if you had a wit of self control, you wouldn't need to appeal to a god. But no. Shove another chocopie in your mouth.

Is there an afterlife for fictional characters? Whoa, I think I just made a very deep oxymoron.
