Ok, I live in Yosu. I am looking for some winter clothes that fit. Where, or where can I find some? I am 5 hours away from Seoul, so my usual places just won't work this time around.

Is there anyplace in Gwangju, say near the base? How about Deague? Anybody have any ideas?

Are you a girl or a boy?

How tall/wide are you?

I am a man, 6ft 1in tall. I am about 210 pounds (I am a little chubby)

I'm just looking for some nice sweaters, possibly a hoody or two........and even a nice winter coat.

DMB Fan,
Dave here from Mike and Dave's Speakeasy in Gwangju.
I also am a huge DMB fan! but that's besides the point. Your request is quite a common one. I too am in dire need of a clothes shopping trip and alas Marks Work Wearhouse still has not opened in Korea. So where do you go? I would recommend the big shops like E Mart, Lotte Mart and Shinsegae. The problem I find with the smaller boutique clothing shops is that A. The clothes are gay B. They are a complete rip off and C. They don't fit. If you come up here to Gwangju we have a few department store options. I find that generally their clothes are less gay, less expensive and they have a much larger selection so you're likely to find something that fits. If you headed out to the "Sang Moo" are in Gwangju there is a large BYC where you can by shirts WITHOUT logos on them for really cheap. There's an E Mart and a Lotte Mart right around the corner and a TGI Fridays just opened so I think that could make for a nice little afternoon. Then you could come downtown in the evening. There's a shop called DIVA that has oversized shirts and pants. It's a hip hop shop but some of the stuff is cool. The ABC shoe store downtown has cheap VANS and other cool shoes. Then of course there's my bar. You can stroll in there Kerri Russel style with your shopping bags overflowing. I'll pour you a beer and you can check out the band that's on that night. Sound good?

Now, that sounds like a plan............tacos, good music and good beer. Being a Texan, that sounds a dam good deal.

I'll be there.

Cheers.
