All readers are Welcome!
You are invited to come out and watch a great sporting event planned for this Saturday November 18th in Gwangju (Jeollanamdo).
The Geckos Soccer Team from Itaewon Seoul are travelling down to Gwangju to head off against the Gwangju Inter FC Team sponsored by Speakeasy. (Go Speakeasy)
The even kicks off at 1:30pm at Chosun University close to downtown.
There will be a Barbecue with Chicken Kebabs, Chili Dogs and Ribs - Yum!
Beer and soft drinks will be available and proceeds from the event will go to the Sungbin Orphanage.
There will be an after-party at Mike and Dave's Speakeasy downtown where Seoul rockers "The Forty Days" will take the stage and rock rock rock all night long.
This is a great chance to get out there on a Saturday and do something fun while supporting a worth while cause. Local Television and Newspapers will be covering the event. Let's show them that there are alot of Foreigners here who do give back to the community in a positive way!
See you at Speakeasy!

I would love it if we could get a player or a sports fan who wanted to promote the local soccer team to write an article about this event. It doesn't matter if you feel your writing skills are up to par, we have writers who can help polish the story with you. This soccer team is one of the oldest running, tightest foreigner teams in our area. It's a major source of camaraderie for waygookin. Add that to the fact that this is a charity event, and I think it's a solid story for Gwangju News.
Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to write the story.

This should be an interesting event for a great cause. It's at an easy-to-find place and it should be a lot of fun. See you there. |

Also, there are plenty of cheap hotels and such within walking distance of the match and the downtown area (Where all the bars are...). Anyone not doing anything tomorrow should head down and support the orphanage. |
