I had my doubts about the new Bond/movie which opened today.

The new guy pulled it off. Awesome Very Happy

The Sebastien Foucan "parkour" segment is astonishing.

It's been getting great reviews all over the place. A lot of people were dead set against Daniel Craig playing Bond but the critics are saying he does an awesome job. They're saying Bond hasn't been this tough and gritty since Connery. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Kurt Russell would have made a better Bond, but I'm willing to give this Craig cat the benefit of the doubt.

Surely you jest. I guffaw at you. And guffah some more. I KNOW you were joking, just angling to get the kind of response I just gave you.

Um, so I guess you win.

Damn.

Kurt as James? I suppose if Disney bought the film rights.

I was, like many many fans were, apprehensive about this "Blond Bond" from the moment Daniel Craig was rumoured to play the role. He still looks to me a better villain than a hero. They have to keep his goldie locks down (with mud and with a short haircut) to prevent him from looking like a Beach Boy. To prevent him from looking like the stereotypical Bond villain -- the megalomanical blond gay nazi evil scientist type. And they just BAAAAAARELY pull that off. They pull it off by keeping the goldie locks so plastered down that the Bond in this film looks uglier and weasellier than his nemesis. And I'm still not sure I like that.

Should make it to Korea soon. It's quite long but worth seeing!

I was intensely disappointed- how could this be a Bond film?
There were zero, count 'em: 0! silhouettes of naked chicks dancing/floating/swimming through the opening credits!!!!
Wink

And in spite of the hype to the contrary, there was a gadget in the film: at least, any glove-box medical kit that has a blood toxin analyzer that works over a cellphone is something that I'd call a gadget, but I was born that way.

I think Daniel Craig certainly stabbed his critics in the heart- if he keeps this up he could very well turn out to be the best James Bond ever.

Overall it was very disappointing. It started strong, but really dragged the last two hours. And what a f-ing waste of a perfectly good Aston Martin.

Maybe, but I don't think people (ie. nerdy diehard Bond fans) would have freaked out if they had picked an American.
