Whenever we get new students, they get an English name. There's a list of boring names that the school uses, but sometimes we can deviate from the list and come up with our own names. The other foreign teacher has named four kids: Cheeto, Robot, Spock, and Captain Kirk. (Not just Kirk CAPTAIN Kirk). I was thinking of names like Slash, Axl, Judas, Buzz, Nixon, Inky, Blinky, Clyde, etc.

Please help me think of some tripped out names for the boys and girls. You get extra credit points if you give the reference to the name.

I am not kidding.

I once named an entire class after Buffy the Vampire characters:

Buffy
Willow
Xander
Angel
Spike
Oz
Giles
Anya

There was another kid left, so I named him after my brother, Butch.

I like Otis. That's a cool name.

CuckooCocoon? Ha, I bought The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway last year. I thought that Genesis was always a pretty annoying band, but then I checked out the Peter Gabriel-era stuff. Great two-disc CD - a very cerebral concept album there.

Why not name them after collective nouns?

Here are two handy lists: A-H and I-Z.

Some good ones:

Banner
Bevy
Thicket
Superfluity
Yoke
Passel
Clowder
Dule
Corps
Vomit

Tens of thousands of choices...
