| Is it a pipe dream to think I could get a decent Cubano somewhere in Seoul? Oh, and does anyone know where I could find some gandules (pigeon peas)? |

When you say "Cubano" I assume you mean the sandwich....well, I've never seen, nor believe there ever will be a place to find a Cuban Sandwich for consumption at a retailer.
That assumed, I made my own whilst in Korea (currently back in FL and get mine down the street). The hardest, if not impossible, thing to find in the bread, but French bread will do (and can be had). Just get the right ingredients, a good butcher, and a suitable press and you are good to go!
As for gandules...I think that impossible. However, if I were to go back to Korea I am bringing the seeds to grow on my land. Not to rub your face in your predicament, but had Arroz con gandules....bloody brilliant is was (and Korean wife loved it too!).
Tomorrow, Arroz con pollo.
