I'm Canadian. I'd talk about Timmy's but there aren't any here. Gotta make due with what's available. |
Had some this summer. Tim's has changed their recipes sometime between this summer and the previous one. Their donuts now suck. |

I think they've been doing this thing where they don't make them fresh. They sort of half cook them in a factory, ship them to the stores frozen, and then the local tims finishes them off. Made fresh? Not anymore. |

No, they still tasted the same two summers ago, after they had already stopped making them in store. The ones I had this summer tasted different. They most definitely changed the ingredients. |

As a Canadian, I don't get what fondness Canadians have for the coffee and donuts. Other than the dutchie, Tims is little different from Dunkin. The coffee isn't stand out. I suspect its about memories. In many Canadian cities, the only late night hop is the local Tim Horton Donuts and one spends a great deal of your youth there. |

I think Timmy's is nasty. I worked there for one summer and vowed to never go back. It was slave labor...the friggin bagel toaster gave off this crazy amount of heat and it was 30 degrees in the back end. Plus the video cameras so the boss could sit and watch you from the back room. Creepy stuff.
Now for some decent donuts, the Donut Mill on Gasoline Alley in Red Deer, between Edmonton and Calgary is the place for donuts. Talking about it makes my mouth water. Rolo donut goodness...mmmm. You Albertans will know what I'm talking about I hope. |

It really depends on where you're at in Canada. Go to a Tim Horton's in downtown Vancouver and you've hit the motherload of hot Asian exchange students. dead serious. Even in my hometown in the Kootenays (South west interior of) the Tim Horton's is a super popular hangout for all the Japanese and Korean esl students at the local college.
The coffee...it's not terrible...but it's not exactly great. It's comparable to 7-11 coffee or something. Tim Horton's coffee is bitter and flavourless...that's why the double double is so popular (2 creams, 2 sugars). |

| There is a Tim Hortons in Korea. Its in Seoul off the Bundang line, I think Jeongja station, its been a long time since I was there. I am sure if you walk around there looking for a Canadian, they could point you to the place. I use to be a big fan of the coffee, but I am a big fan of Starbucks..wish they had cream in Korea at the Starbucks for regular coffees. Still the dounuts at tims the best I have ever had in my life. |

Evidently one recently opened in Pusan, the first one outside the Seoul metro area. Can anyone confirm this? Seeing Krispy Kremes spread across the nation makes me happy.

Sounds like the Waffle House in the US.
However, when I went to Tim's in Montreal and other areas of Quebec, it seemed decent.
A Waffle House anywhere would be a filthy cesspool of beastly trucker sluts and junkies. That's why they call it the Awful House. |
